Mireya Sánchez-Maes (she/ella) is a playwright and lyricist from Las Cruces, New Mexico, whose work celebrates queerness, joy, and the Chicano families who have called this land home since before the Mayflower arrived. Her plays include How to Kill a Goat, Luto, Phèdre, The Treadmill Play, and Summer & Gramita are About to Get Fucked. She is an O'Neill National Playwrights Conference finalist and a Mass Cultural Council grant recipient. Her work has been developed at the Boston New Works Festival, the Harvard Playwrights' Festival, and the New Mexico High Desert New Play Festival, with a commission from Eliot House at Harvard College.
